Goa Water Stories (GWS) celebrates the interwoven tapestry of water, culture, and ecology along Goa's waterways and the Western Ghats. Anchored by the virtual Living Waters Museum, GWS needed a collaborative digital platform — co-curated with local communities, researchers, artists, writers, and students — to document the rivers, wells, mangroves, khazan lands, and Ramsar sites that shape Goa's vibrant landscapes and living heritage.
We designed an interactive storytelling platform with map-based navigation, letting users explore waterways geographically. Custom illustrations and photography blend into scroll-driven narratives for each water body. The platform supports community contributions through a moderated submission system, turning the site into a living archive that grows over time.
The platform launched as the first comprehensive digital archive of Goa's waterways, receiving recognition from environmental and cultural organisations. It serves as both an educational resource and a tool for advocacy, connecting communities with the water systems they depend on.
